conspired with Superintendent McFatridge and were starving the Blackfeet
Indians to force a Blackfeet land cession of 156,000 acres of the irrigated
lands, coal and newly discovered oil & gas fields. Chief Inspector E.B.
Linnen finally recommended Superintendent Arthur McFatridge be removed as
superintendent of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, “We feel absolutely
justified in stating that he has made a complete failure as a superintendent. A
good, strong, honest and competent superintendent should be promptly placed at
Blackfeet in his stead.”

Plume, and Young Man Chief, upon the telegraphic order of Arthur E. McFatridge
