"Their own scientists tell them these are facts, not fantasy, but they refuse to change or alter their mode of life. The Republican majority Montana Legislature voted last session to reject $164 million in "free" federal funds for poor people, meaning no state match was required to receive the
funds, because the majority Republicans said it violated their "ideology" and because most of the funding was targeted for "reservation/counties." It was "Slow Death Measures" genocide in political action. 44 of the state legislators cashed in farmer's welfare checks called agriculture subsidies although they are millionaires. The cash subsidies Montana farmers and ranchers have received from 1995 to 2010 is $5.8 billion from the federal agriculture department in livestock indemnity programs, crop insurance, and price supports for wheat, corn, and a myriad of other cash payments. There are at least 50 farmer's welfare programs and many, many government checks sent to their rural mailboxes, shielding the millionaire farmers from the public shame of filling out county welfare applications."
