I actually met Chief White Calf when he was nearly 100 years old, and let me tell you, he was impressive, he looked and acted like a chief, very dignified, a natural leader and fearless. He was broad in the chest and his hands and body looked powerful like a warrior. Read his book "Piegan" by Richard Lancaster, he tells a lot of Blackfeet history not available anywhere else. Just meeting him gave me respect for the full-blood Blackfeet people, which I carry to this day. They are my heroes!
